We picked this picture of Laurence Daltons' engine to show of the MB clutch and gear linkage kit. Laurences' engine was fitted with a six plate clutch but this made no difference to the precision linkages fitted to all engines built by MB Developments.
You can see the adjuster block (available plain or polished), Stainless adjuster screws and nuts, Stainless gear pivot base, Zinc plated Spanish gear swivels, Stainless tie bars and gear arm stud conversion. Introduced since this picture was taken are the stainless steel cable trunnions.
Note that the wire between the adjuster block and the clutch arm is not part of the kit, we just fit that to newly built engines to stop the clutch bushes coming loose in before the cables are fitted. |

MB Developments test all their products before selling them. This is our 2002 Retro custom expansion chamber designed for custom, cutdown and chopper scooter. This was tested on cast iron and TS1 cylinders using proven engines and rev counters. Both customers wanted the pipe straight away they were so pleased with the performance! Both customers had tried most other makes of pipes but found this one suited them best. |

It's always difficult to take a photograph from any position to
illustrate the true effect of the MBD gear and clutch adjuster
block. It was designed to make access to all adjuster screws
easier. The standard item only allows access to the clutch and front
adjuster, the rear screw can only be adjusted with the clutch cable
removed. The standard item uses a thin metal support for the rear
brake cable to stop it rubbing on the rear tyre. This support usually
breaks letting the brake cable rub on the rear tyre. The MB
Developments item has a casting to locate the rear brake cable which
solves this problem. We have also made the adjuster screws and nuts
in Stainless steel. |

The MB Developments hydraulic inboard disc conversion. Think of a
standard Lambretta disc brake set-up, even if it's reverse pull, then
double the power of the braking action and thats what you get with a
hydraulic brake. Please note this price is based on EXCHANGE, i.e. to
do yours. We cannot get hold of backplates to be able to sell them
already done. With this exchange, to save time for you, we have a
couple on the shelf done to be able to send you a converted one
quickly. This means you will not get back the one you sent UNLESS you
tell us you want YOUR backplate done and returned to you. This can
push the turn-around up to a month. |

MB Developments believe in manufacturing engines to last a long time
that keep the performance they were made for. Cast cylinder can be
tuned from stage 3 through to 6 and still use a large carb. We have
found over the years that a 28 or 30 PHBH carb allows excellent all
round performance, with good pulling power and increased
Horsepower. Running these carbs with an open bellmouth has two
problems:-
- They breathe in dust and grit with the air which in time will wear
out a cylinder.
- Most piston ported engine have spit back at some throttle
positions, which leaves the runner boards, panels and riders feet
covered in oil and petrol and makes the scooter look dirty and smelly.

We looked at the problem and came up with our remote air filter
system which is a GP200 air hose bonded onto a ram air filter. This
system replaces the air filter box and keeps the scooter clean, reliable
and quieter! It is a must for all 28-30 PHBH carbs whether you have
full bodywork or not. |

Detail is a major part of all the things we do at MB
Developments. Our hydraulic conversion is complemented by our extra
long clutch lever conversion. The extra leverage this conversion
gives over a standard lever makes pulling the lever in very
easy. Matched with one of our nylon lined clutch cables you can
easily pull the lever in with two fingers, even on a 6 plate conversion,
making life very easy at all times. To finish the conversion we use
Yamaha TZR grips (longer than Lambretta ones), which suit the longer
clutch lever. To finish off the conversion we offer the MB
Developments polished alloy bar ends, made for GP handlebars but they
can be modified to suit SX/LI handlebars. Note: Because we cannot
find a source of new or good second hand clutch lever housings we only
offer the lever conversion as an EXCHANGE i.e. you send us your housing
to be done. |

MB Developments use two types of hydraulic master cylinders, one is
the Yamaha one with offset mounting holes. This is the Grimeca one
with inline mounting holes. It is very small and neat. The lever
can be changed to a Yamaha one to match the Yamaha clutch lever
conversion. |

This carb kit is very popular and rightly so. It works well, it
fits full body lambrettas. It is easy to set up, it makes your motor
more reliable, it keeps the noise down, it keeps the panels and
floorboards clean and it gives more power on mild touring to road-race
type tunes. The kit is complete and ready to fit with spare jets and
instructions and is ideal for 150-200cc engines. It is our
recommended carb kit for stage 4,5 or 6 tunes on either SR 175-190 kits,
Indian factory kits or any tuned cast iron kits. |
