The MB Developments Stage 4 factory tuned 200cc package.
We take a standard Indian cylinder, all port edges are chamfered, the
transfer feeds are lowered and cleaned up.
We use the Asso 2 ring road-race piston.
All bores and pistons are measured to find a perfect match of piston to
bore clearance. (If this is NOT done you either get a tight bore which
seizes or a slack bore which rattles.)
WE CHECK EVERY ONE WE SELL!
We clean up the cylinder and supply all the studs, nuts, washers, and
gaskets, including the cylinder studs and nuts and washers for the head.
Each kit comes with full fitting and running in instructions.
We use the stronger Indian 200 heads in these kits.
We reprofile them to suit them Asso pistons then lower the compression
ratio to suit unleaded fuel.
We can supply a head with out lowered compression to suit people who want
a faster scooter but this requires a much closer eye kept on the jetting.
We recommend the 30mm PHBH carb kit to use with this kit in conjunction
with a clubman exhaust for the best all-round touring package. |

The ever popular 28 and 30mm PHBH Dellorto complete carb packages as
supplied by MB Developments.
MB Developments manufacture or modify special shortened inlet manifolds
so the carb kit will fit under the side panels, so you don't need to cut
holes in them.
At MB Developments we take a PHBH carb and strip it to check and swap
the jets.
We supply spare main jets and needles that will suit any engine setup.
The full kit includes carb, mounting rubber, cable choke assembly, mounting
rubber jubilee clips, inlet manifold with its fasteners, inlet gasket,
the MB Developments remote ram air filter and a universal nylon lined
throttle cable.
The package also includes full running in and jetting instructions.
This kit is recommended for all stage 4-6 tunes, including our factory
stage 4 200cc package.
It gives a good spread of power and excellent fuel economy.
Scooters can reach up 20HP and 85mph but are usually used for the best
"all round" engine set-up, cruising at 70mph two-up, being good around
town and also on the open road. |

Over the years a number of engine have come into our workshop to solve
totally worn out cylinders.
From the engineering point of view these engines were set up perfectly,
either by us, our customers or other dealers.
To the untrained eye it seems that there is nothing wrong with the set-up
to cause any wear, but we have known a brand new TS1 lose all the nicasil
in 20 miles to give a piston to bore clearance measurable not in thousands
of an inch but in millimetres measurable with a wooden ruler!
Firstly, customers blame a kit, WRONG!
When quizzed it normally turns out that the petrol tank has been sandblasted
without blanking off the holes on the tank.
We usually find this happens when tanks have been epoxy coated because
the sand that is used to blast them gets in the tank.
This sand passes through the fuel system through the carb and then wears
away the piston and bore.
A mild sign of this is the inlet side of the piston looking like it has
been sandblasted.
Sometimes we have come across sand in fuel straight from petrol stations,
this can wear away your cylinder if used regularly.
For these reasons, and it is a very common problem, we have introduced
a range of inline fuel filters for all Lambrettas, tuned or standard.
The cheapest is the throw-away plastic item.It
is clear and you can see the amount of particles that come through in
the fuel.
These filters quickly discolour with the oil and fuel mixture but you
can expect them to last well over a year.
Our next range are reasonably
cheap but they have the advantage that you can take them apart and clean
them out. They come in a variety of colours - red, blue, chrome and
gold.
The top of the range ones
have glass windows allowing you to view inside to see if the filter
is clogging up with particles. They can be stripped and cleaned out.
They are available in red or blue.
All the filters that MB Developments sell flow
enough fuel to suit race tuned engines but as we have explained we consider
them an item than any scooter should have! |

Carbon fibre isn't just a fad, it is strong and VERY light.
We have these tax-disc holders made in carbon lookalike.
They are not heavy, they are very neat and suit most road-race scooters
and are a nice finishing touch to any scooter whether it be standard,
road-race or tuned. |
