There is nothing worse than seeing a well done scooter, into which a lot of thought has gone, with rusty original fasteners and parts being used for the sake of originality or through laziness.
Using many suppliers, we have
endeavoured to source most Lambretta fasteners in stainless steel.
Where a fastener or part can't be found in stainless steel we have had them made in stainless steel.
We offer many different kits of stainless steel fasteners for doing different sections of Lambrettas, these make it easy to reassemble your scooter and almost turn it into an adult version of Meccano - all the parts are there you just need to put it all together!
MB Developments stock over 55,000 stainless steel metric nuts, bolts and washers (fasteners) that replace the originals on Vespas and Lambrettas.
A word from Mark:-
"Since the early 1980's I have been using stainless steel fasteners when rebuilding my own and customers scooters. It started as a little detail to finish them off nicely. I tried chrome plated screws only to find they would chip and rust, I tried zinc and cadmium plating but again they rusted, stainless steel didn't! From the beginning of MB Developments I have tried to introduce stainless steel to the scootering world, it has been like flogging a dead horse! I have never understood why for years it never took off, but my in my beliefs we stuck with it and gradually introduced stainless to our regular customers. As time has gone on more and more products have been made in stainless steel and so the interest has grown. We are the only scooter dealer specialising in a large variety of stainless steel products. It has come to a point where stainless is becoming a standard item when restoring scooters."
